About Oliver

 

Oliver is a cookbook author, wholefood chef, nutritional therapist and trusted business advisor working within the independent food retail sector. He has worked in the independent health and wellness sector for over 20 years.

Oliver's love for nutrition started on his travels to Australia and the USA where he worked in various organic, vegetarian cafes and stores picking up ideas along the way especially in Sydney, Cape Cod, Boston, New York and San Francisco.

He returned to Ireland in 2001 and with this experience he became aware of his own food sensitivities and the power of healing foods.

In 2004, Oliver was instrumental in transforming his family's business Select Stores in Dalkey into a popular independent health store, grocer, juice bar and cafe . Check out Oliver's journey in his first bestselling book 'The Fuel Food Cookbook'.

In 2007 he graduated from The Irish Institute of Nutrition and Health with an ITEC diploma in Nutritional Therapy where he was trained by Ireland’s top nutritional therapist Richard Burton. Oliver trained as a wholefood chef with Irish Time columnist and West Cork chef Carmel Somers which supported him greatly working within the family business plus being invited to present interactive fun food demos events.

Oliver has given many healthy eating talks/demos in schools, colleges, corporate, festival and collaborative healthy lifestyle events in the Ireland and UK including Loreto Dalkey, Blackrock College, Rotunda Hospital, Taste of Dublin, Bulgari, Google, Microsoft and Natural Products Show Europe. He has appeared on RTE's Today show & Virgin Media’s Weekend AMTV as a resident TV chef plus collaborating with Irish Independent media on food topics such as children’s cookery, mental health and food trends.

This led to Oliver setting up his own consultancy company Hubble Health working alongside independent health food stores, food retailers and their health/wellness brands as a trusted business advisor with bespoke sales and marketing campaigns in Ireland and overseas.

Oliver has worked with independent health food brands such as Viridian Nutrition, True Natural Goodness, Wild Nutrition, Clearspring, Sonnentor, Nuzest, Biona, Dr. Bronner, Lilly's, Iswari and Pukka. Oliver is keenly aware of the importance of having high quality food products of good provenance widely available through ethical supply chains and is eager to bring his knowledge to bear in his role as Ambassador for the Health Stores Ireland association highlighting the importance of supporting independent health food shops in one’s community, shopping local and keeping the independent health food sector alive.
